Community Spotlight: Fire & Rescue

Explore the new Community Spotlight: Fire and Rescue exhibit, get an up-close look at an antique fire truck and hose cart, and learn about the legacy of local first responders. Kids can even craft their very own Skipper puppet, inspired by the Fredericksburg Fire Department’s beloved 1960s dalmatian mascot!

Our Community Spotlight exhibit is a frequently changing showcase dedicated to celebrating the people, organizations, and themes that make our area unique. 

Through photos, artifacts, and personal stories, our Community Spotlight offers a glimpse into these groups. Whether it’s a local volunteer group, artists or musicians, or even the technology that has helped build the city, this exhibit shines a light on those who have and are shaping our history.
