2026 FAM Events

When: Every Friday in the Spring (May & June, plus Fourth of July) and the Fall (August & September).

Location: FAM Market Square

Expected Attendance: 1,000+ per concert

About: FAM Downtown Sounds (previously known as Sounds of Summer) is a concert series showcasing regional musicians in historic Market Square. The series has demonstrated for the last 10+ years, through its overwhelming popularity, that music continues to be a common denominator among people of diverse socio-economic backgrounds. Concerts will take place in the Spring and Fall, with 18 total performances.

Downtown Sounds

When: September 2026

Location: FAM Market Square and various offsite locations throughout the weekend.

Expected Attendance: 1,500+ throughout various sites.

About: The Black Arts Festival is a community-centered event that celebrates African American arts and culture throughout the Fredericksburg region. Originally created by Harambee 360, the festival highlights the creativity and talent of Black artists through a showcase of visual art, performance, and cultural expression each fall, while supporting and uplifting artists within the local community.

About: Held in historic Market Square, FAMFaire is an outdoor holiday market inspired by traditional German-style markets. Taking place each early December, the event features a festive selection of handmade crafts, seasonal goods, and traditional foods, along with a variety of vendors, family-friendly activities, and live musical performances that create a lively holiday atmosphere for the community.
